Access to Armut, one of Turkey’s largest service platforms, has been restricted by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority. The decision was made following a court ruling in Istanbul dated December 4. The platform, which connects customers with professionals and craftsmen across thousands of different service categories, has not yet disclosed the exact reason for the closure.
Company officials clarified that the issue was first noticed on Sunday evening. While the site remains accessible from abroad, access from within Turkey has been blocked. Since the restriction was applied outside of working hours, the company has not yet received the official decision and is still unaware of the reason for the block.
Armut’s management considers the decision unfair. The company’s lawyers are scheduled to review the court documents this morning and will begin legal proceedings to lift the restriction. Authorities have stated that once the reason is clarified, information will be provided to both service providers and users.
