FSB founder asks Trump for pardon

Sam Benkman-Fried, the founder of the bankrupt FTX crypto exchange, has appealed to US President Donald Trump for clemency.

According to Bloomberg, the US Department of Justice confirmed that the application had been received. Benkman-Fried himself announced his desire to receive a pardon in an interview with Fox Business.

According to the information, he has recently been making statements on social networks and in conservative media supporting Trump's decisions.

FTX declared bankruptcy in the US in November 2022. At that time, the administrator appointed to the company stated that corporate control was seriously violated and financial documents were almost non-existent. US media reported that at least $ 1 billion had disappeared from the exchange.

Sam Benkman-Fried was convicted of fraud and criminal conspiracy in March 2024 and sentenced to 25 years in prison. He also filed an appeal for a review of the verdict in February 2026.
