It is planned to open a Groq office in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the U.S.-based company Groq Inc. in the field of artificial intelligence and advanced computing systems. Under this partnership, Groq’s infrastructure is expected to be deployed in Kazakhstan, with pilot projects planned at Alem.AI and Astana Hub. The goal is to establish next-generation cloud data centers to support high-performance computing (HPC) and AI. Groq is also considering opening an official representative office or innovation center in the country.

At the same time, the Ministry signed another memorandum with Palo Alto Networks in the area of cybersecurity. This agreement aims to strengthen the protection of Kazakhstan’s critical digital assets, acquire advanced technologies—including AI-powered tools—and introduce new educational programs for training specialists.

Both documents were signed at the C5+1 business conference held in Washington. During the event, several other major agreements were reached, including the integration of AI solutions into Kazakhstan’s education system in cooperation with OpenAI, Oracle’s support for the country’s AI strategy, Air Astana’s purchase of 18 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft worth $7 billion, a $300 million deal with BETA Technologies for electric eVTOL aircraft for an “air taxi” system in Alatau City, a $2.5 billion strategic partnership with John Deere, $1.6 billion in financing for the renewal of Kazakhstan Railways’ locomotive fleet, as well as agreements on tungsten field development and cooperation with major U.S. companies in the financial sector.
