The famous Italian fashion house Prada has introduced a new inner spacesuit layer to be used on NASA's lunar missions. The garment was developed in collaboration with the US space infrastructure company Axiom Space.
The new "Liquid Cooling and Ventilation Garment" is equipped with special ventilation pipes to regulate the body temperature of astronauts. The presentation took place at an event in New York.
Prada representatives said that the company's experience in technology, materials and design can also be applied to the space industry. Axiom Space management emphasized that innovative solutions for space exploration can come from various industries.
This is not Prada's first step in the space field. In 2024, the company also presented a spacesuit design that could be used on NASA's Artemis 4 lunar mission planned for 2028.
Experts believe that Prada is trying to gain access to future customers and strengthen its innovative brand image by taking an early position in the space tourism and space technology market.
