A team of young researchers and students from the Azerbaijan University of Technology (ATU) has created a first among regional universities and presented to the public the "ATU-Car" project, a smart electric car based on artificial intelligence, developed entirely with local capabilities.
According to information provided to Gencexeber.az by the higher education institution, the presentation of the project took place within the framework of the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference "Modern Trends in Science and Technology". The event was attended by the rector of the university, Yashar Omarov, deputy director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, Nijat Asadli, representatives of various scientific institutions and specialists from industrial enterprises.
The project brings together artificial intelligence, alternative energy sources and smart control technologies.
The main technical features of the car include a solar panel energy system, specially designed battery technology, biomotion sensors, GPS-based navigation, voice command control, mechanical and remote control control, as well as a "brain" system developed from scratch. The project is based on an ESP32 microprocessor, an EVO40 driver, two 24V DC motors, and a DC-DC converter system for energy optimization. The vehicle can move loads of up to 120 kilograms.
