The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is developing special standards to ensure that artificial intelligence technologies in the country are based on ethical principles and applied responsibly. This important announcement was made by Deputy Minister Sameddin Asadov during the scientific-practical conference “The Prospects of Artificial Intelligence in Combating Climate Change”, organized by the Parliamentary Committee on Natural Resources, Energy, and Ecology.
In his speech, the Deputy Minister noted that more than 1 billion data units currently available in the country are planned to be made accessible to the wider public. This initiative envisions the implementation of special programs that will allow private sector representatives, startups, and research institutions to utilize these data resources to develop local artificial intelligence models.
Additionally, work is underway to establish the necessary regulatory and institutional frameworks for the field. Sameddin Asadov emphasized that the main objective is to ensure that AI systems developed in Azerbaijan do not become a source of potential threats, but instead directly contribute to human well-being.
