US President Donald Trump met with Sam Altman, Masayoshi Son and Larry Ellison at a press conference at the White House. During the meeting, the first presentation of the project called The Stargate Project, which aims to build artificial intelligence-focused infrastructure projects and data centers in the United States, was held.
The companies represented by the trio, OpenAI, SoftBank and Oracle, who spoke with Trump, will be the main investors in this project, which will invest a total of $ 500 billion over the next four years. The Stargate Project, which was launched to strengthen OpenAI operations, will also receive support from OpenAI partners such as Arm, Microsoft and NVIDIA.
According to Sam Altman, the construction of the first data center within the project has begun in Texas. At the same time, the search for suitable locations in other states is ongoing. According to official statements, a total of 20 data centers are planned to be built. These centers and related works are expected to create 100,000 new jobs.
During the press conference, Sam Altman thanked Donald Trump, saying:
“Mr. President, we couldn’t have done this without you.”
Masayoshi Son added:
“If you hadn’t won the election, we wouldn’t have decided to start this project.”
