Adobe has launched an open beta test of artificial intelligence (AI) assistants for several popular applications in the Creative Cloud ecosystem. The new features are currently available to users in Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign and Frame.io applications.
According to the report, AI assistants are aimed at simplifying the organization of the workflow and automating specific tasks for each application. This step is part of Adobe's strategy to integrate AI-based assistants into all its core products.
Although the new system is built on a single conversational agent, it acts as a separate specialized assistant in each application. For example, the assistant in Premiere Pro understands the video editing process, while the version in Photoshop works in accordance with image editing tools. Users can perform operations on projects by typing their requests in plain language.
In Premiere Pro, AI automatically divides the footage into folders, renames videos and creates markers on the assembly line by identifying keywords in audio recordings. The system also has the ability to create an initial draft of the video.
In Photoshop, the user can edit images by describing the desired result in text form. Artificial intelligence organizes layers, changes the background and performs other operations automatically. This assistant was previously presented in the web and mobile versions of Photoshop, and is now available in the desktop version.
According to Adobe representatives, the goal is to provide every creative professional with a digital assistant that can support them in performing tasks across all platforms and applications.
Note that this step by Adobe comes at a time when competition in the creative software market is increasing. The company is increasingly focusing on new artificial intelligence capabilities to increase the value of paid subscription services and retain users in the ecosystem.
