Apple has removed apps containing the SparkCat virus from the App Store. This virus steals users' photos.
In total, the company removed 11 apps from the store, including ComeCome, WeTink, and AnyGPT. The company also found the same malicious code in 89 apps that were previously removed or rejected for fraud, and it has blocked the developers' accounts.
SparkCat was first discovered by Kaspersky Lab and named a Trojan horse. According to cybersecurity experts, the virus hid in fake versions of popular apps. When users downloaded the app and granted it permission to function normally, the malicious software sent all sensitive data to attackers.
