On May 30, 2024, the presentation conference of the "Global Startup Ecosystem Index" report for 2024 was held by "StartupBlink", the world's global startup ecosystem map and research center.
At the event, the representative of the State Agency for Service to Citizens and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan highlighted the support of the private sector in our country, the measures, goals and innovations implemented in this direction by the "INNOLAND" Incubation and Acceleration Center.
In the report, 100 countries and 1000 cities with fertile conditions for the development of startups around the world were selected. Compared to last year, Azerbaijan advanced 4 places in the ranking and entered the top 80. Baku, on the other hand, was one of the 350 cities with the highest results, advancing 68 places in the intercity ranking.
When calculating the rating, criteria such as the number of innovation centers, investors, registered startups and acceleration programs in cities, including the infrastructure created for startups and their use, discount mechanisms, innovation measures at universities, startup market size, research and research are taken into account.
It should be noted that the State Agency is the main partner of the "StartupBlink" organization throughout the country from 2022.
In order for our country to advance further in the international rankings, efforts are being made to share information on the local innovation ecosystem, implemented projects and support measures in the international arena.
