Belarusian government blocks VKontakte

Access to the popular social network VKontakte (VK) has been restricted in Belarus. Local media, including Tochka.by, report that on October 24, 2025, the website vk.com was included in the list of restricted access by the Belarusian State Information Security Agency (BSIS).

According to the registry, the blocking of the site was carried out on the basis of a proposal from the State Security Committee (KGB). However, the reason for the blocking has not yet been disclosed.

Tochka.by writes that Beltelecom users are seeing a notification about access restrictions when trying to access the site. The company confirmed that this restriction applies to all Internet providers in the country.

However, many users report that the mobile version of m.vk.com is still working. According to Tochka.by, access to the social network via mobile applications and browsers is still possible on the networks of MTS, A1 and life:) operators.

VKontakte representatives told vc.ru that they are investigating the situation and are taking all necessary steps to "restore services for millions of users in Belarus as soon as possible."
