BlackBerry revenue increases sharply

Canadian technology company BlackBerry has released its revenue forecast for the first quarter of 2026. The company expects revenue to be in the range of $132-140 million, which exceeds analysts' estimates of $129.9 million.

Following this announcement, BlackBerry's US-listed shares rose more than 10% in premarket trading.

The company also beat expectations for the fourth quarter. Q4 revenue amounted to $156 million, surpassing the forecast of $144.4 million.

Revenue from BlackBerry's proprietary QNX operating system increased 20% year-on-year to $78.7 million. Revenue from secure communications services increased 8% to $72.5 million.

CFO Tim Foote said that the company has completed the transformation process and will focus more investment in the QNX platform in the next phase. CEO John Giamatteo added that the company is also considering smaller-scale acquisitions.
