Yandex will acquire the powerbank rental service "Beri Zaryad" and form it as a separate business line. The service will be operated together with other products such as car sharing, scooter and bicycle rental. Yandex plans to invest 2 billion rubles ($22 million) over two years to expand the service and attract partners through a franchise model.
"Beri Zaryad" was founded in 2018 and offers powerbank rental in public places. The company held a pre-IPO in May 2024, attracting 750 million rubles in investment and valuing its business at 4.5 billion rubles. In December, "Beri Zaryad" agreed with Yandex to complete the sale agreement. This will expand Yandex's portfolio of rental services.
