OpenAI has launched a budget-friendly ChatGPT Go subscription plan in Indonesia. This is the second country where the company has introduced a similar plan, after India. Priced at just 75,000 Indonesian rupiah per month ($4.50), this plan sits between the free version and the more expensive ChatGPT Plus plan.
- Higher usage limits: It allows users to ask 10 times more questions than the free plan, create images, and upload files.
- Better memory: ChatGPT can remember previous conversations more effectively, helping provide more personalized responses.
Nick Turley, Head of ChatGPT at OpenAI, stated that after launching this plan in India, the number of paid subscribers more than doubled.
OpenAI’s move directly puts it in competition with Google. Earlier this month, Google introduced a similar-priced AI Plus subscription plan in Indonesia. Google’s plan gives users access to the Gemini 2.5 Pro chatbot, as well as creative tools like Flow, Whisk, and Veo 3 Fast. Additionally, it offers integrated AI features in Gmail, Docs, and Sheets, along with 200 GB of cloud storage.
This competition indicates that AI services will become more accessible to a wider audience. Users now have the option to choose the plan that best fits their needs.
