Citizens can now register their marriages digitally

The “mygov” digital government platform, presented by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, offers citizens another service. Citizens can now register their marriages digitally through the “mygov” application.
It should be noted that the integration of this service into the “mygov” platform took place in cooperation with IRIA and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
To start this process, citizens who will enter into marriage must first undergo a medical examination. 14 days after the examination, the blood test results are automatically uploaded to the “mygov” platform and users receive a notification to start applying for marriage registration. After receiving the notification, citizens who want to enter into marriage can register their marriage by following the following simple steps in the “mygov” application:

1. Log in to the “mygov” application and start the process by clicking on the “Starting a Family” option in the “Life Events” section or by selecting the “Marriage Registration” service from the “Services” section.
2. After the system checks the medical certificates of both parties, the registration screen with the FIN and confirmation codes will open.
3. One of the parties continues their application for marriage registration by sending the FIN and confirmation code to the other.
4. Select the surname to be taken after the marriage and the certificate delivery center, confirm your information.
5. After 30 days, the citizen will receive a notification about the change in the status of the service. When the status appears as “Completed”, pay the state fee in the amount of 10 AZN.
6. When your certificate is ready, you can obtain it from the delivery center of your choice.

After receiving the marriage certificate physically, citizens will be able to obtain this document in digital form in the “My Family Information” section of the “mygov” application. Thanks to this innovation, citizens can now carry out marriage registration without leaving home, conveniently and without wasting time.

It should be noted that, according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 16, citizens' submission of the required marriage certificate information via the "mygov" platform is considered equivalent to submitting its physical carrier.
