Citizens can now set time limits on their consent for data requests made by private institutions

Citizens in Azerbaijan can now easily manage their consent for the use of personal data by private institutions through the “mygov” platform. Thanks to a newly introduced feature, users can grant permission for their data to be accessed by setting a specific time frame — either temporary or permanent — allowing for more precise control over how their information is used.

Within the “My Queried Data” section of the platform, citizens can view all the consents they’ve provided, set expiration periods, and either pause or reactivate these permissions at any time. When a time frame is set, the institution is allowed to access the citizen’s data through “mygov” only within that specified period. If the consent is revoked, access to the data by the relevant private institution is completely restricted.

This new functionality on the “mygov” platform enhances the digital management of personal information, giving citizens a more secure and efficient way to control their data.
