Germany’s telecom giant Deutsche Telekom and leading US chip manufacturer Nvidia have launched a strategic partnership to create Europe’s first industrial-focused artificial intelligence cloud in Germany. The project is planned to be fully operational by 2026.
This cloud infrastructure, a first of its kind in Europe, aims to accelerate applications such as design, engineering, simulation, digital twins, and robotics for companies in the manufacturing sector. Nvidia will supply 10,000 AI chips for the initiative, while Deutsche Telekom will provide data centers, security, operations, and sales systems. The new tech hub will also expand the deployment of AI solutions.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz praised the project, stating that the collaboration is a significant step toward ensuring the country’s digital sovereignty and economic growth. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang emphasized that in the AI era, every manufacturer needs two “factories”: one to produce goods and another to create the intelligence that powers them.
Deutsche Telekom CEO Timotheus Höttges highlighted that Europe’s technological future depends on fast decisions and collaborative innovation. This initiative also aims to strengthen Europe’s leadership in the global technology race.
