ElevenLabs has launched its new platform — the Iconic Voice Marketplace, an AI-powered voice marketplace. This platform allows brands to legally use the voices of celebrities created using AI in advertising and audio projects.
The principle of the system is simple: the owner of the voice or his heirs gives official permission, after which ElevenLabs converts the voice into a digital model and makes it available for commercial use. Users will be able to select the necessary voice and pay for its use.
Currently, there are 28 voices in the database. Among them are such names as Michael Caine, Liza Minnelli, Art Garfunkel, as well as historical figures — Mark Twain and Alan Turing.
Michael Caine said about the project that he sees this technology not as an alternative to actors, but as a tool that expands the capabilities of storytellers.
The company noted that all voices are used with the consent of the owners or their representatives. ElevenLabs has also implemented a monitoring system to prevent violations of ethical guidelines — this system prevents the use of celebrities' names and images in inappropriate contexts.
