Elon Musk opposes Apple's satellite project

Recently, a fierce competition has emerged between Apple and SpaceX in the satellite communication sector. According to The Wall Street Journal, SpaceX founder Elon Musk is opposed to Apple developing its own satellite technology, particularly its plans to provide satellite internet in "dead zones" where mobile coverage is unavailable.

Apple has invested billions of dollars into space-based communication technology, aiming to make significant advancements in mobile connectivity. Meanwhile, SpaceX has already launched over 550 Starlink satellites into orbit to provide mobile internet services. Both companies are vying for the same frequencies, exacerbating the conflict. As a result, SpaceX has filed a request with U.S. regulators to halt funding for Apple’s satellite projects.

Despite the competition, the two companies also collaborate in certain areas. For example, iPhones already use Globalstar satellites launched by SpaceX rockets. Additionally, Apple, T-Mobile, and SpaceX have reached an agreement to integrate Starlink technology into future iPhone models. This collaboration aims to expand connectivity in remote areas and boost both iPhone sales and Starlink's growth.

However, the relationship between Apple and SpaceX remains complex and contradictory. While they occasionally share mutual interests, at other times their positions clash completely.
