Elon Musk’s Neuralink completes $650 million Series E funding round

Elon Musk’s brain-computer interface startup, Neuralink, has successfully completed a $650 million Series E funding round. According to an official blog post published on Monday, the round included participation from prominent investors such as ARK Invest, Founders Fund, Sequoia Capital, and Thrive Capital.

Neuralink previously raised $280 million in a Series D round in 2023, followed by an additional $43 million in funding. Since then, the company has made significant progress in its brain chip technology.

According to Neuralink, brain chips have now been successfully implanted in five individuals with severe paralysis, and the scope of human clinical trials has expanded. In May, Neuralink received "Breakthrough Device" designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a status aimed at accelerating the development, assessment, and approval processes for experimental technologies.

According to recent reports from Semafor, this latest investment round values Neuralink at approximately $9 billion pre-money.

This funding milestone marks a significant step forward for Neuralink in its efforts to pioneer advanced innovations in the brain-computer interface space, with the potential to create new opportunities for improving human quality of life.
