Actress Emma Watson has invested in women's health startup Hertility, raising the company's total investment to more than $14 million.
Watson is known for her interest in women's rights and women-led startups. CEO and co-founder of Hertility startup Dr. Helen O'Neill said she met Watson through another investor who saw her as an investor.
"Hertility was founded by women and focuses on women's health — an area that has historically received insufficient attention and funding," O'Neill said. "Watson is contributing to the empowerment of women by investing in a company built on the mission to revolutionize women's health." added his words.
Hertility is a start-up founded with the aim of researching women's reproductive health and providing them with personalized tests, diagnostic services, egg freezing and telemedicine services. The company is based in the UK and reports that waiting times for gynecological appointments for women in the country are too long.
There is a huge gap in the women's health market in the UK, with women spending more on their reproductive health than men. That's why Hertility works to make women's health more accessible and affordable.
