Global audit and consulting firm EY has launched a major technological revolution in the audit industry. The company has launched a multi-billion dollar investment to deploy its “agentic AI” tools globally on its EY Canvas platform.
The new system is based on a multi-agent architecture and is integrated with Microsoft’s Azure, Foundry and Fabric technologies.
According to EY, the Canvas platform processes more than 1.4 trillion accounting records across 160,000 audit projects in more than 150 countries annually. The new AI tools will be used at all stages of the audit, covering the daily work processes of 130,000 audit professionals.
The company said it plans to launch a fully functional, end-to-end AI-powered audit system by 2028. In parallel, large-scale training for employees working on audit and technology risks will also begin this year.
