Getir introduces two new AI-Powered features: ready basket and My Shopping List

Getir has unveiled new artificial intelligence solutions designed to enhance user experience. The company’s CEO, Batuhan Gültakan, stated, “With our new AI-based features, we’re making shopping easier than ever before.” Gültakan added that since the company’s inception, Getir has focused on the question, “How can we meet people’s needs in the shortest possible time with minimal effort?” — and that these new features represent the next step in advancing that vision.

The first of the new AI features introduced to reduce shopping time is “Ready Basket.” This feature offers users pre-filled baskets tailored to their individual preferences and habits. In pilot programs, it was observed that 90% of users made no changes to the recommended baskets.

The second AI innovation, a first in Turkey, is “My Shopping List.” When users take a photo of a handwritten shopping list and upload it to the “My Shopping List” section of the Getir or GetirBüyük apps, the products are automatically added to their basket. For example, if the list includes items like bread, milk, and olive oil, the app automatically fills the basket with the most popular products in those categories. Users can also browse all available products within a category and replace them with different brands if they wish. This feature doesn’t require taking a new photo — users can upload an existing image or create a list directly in the Getir app. Typing in items such as baby diapers or waffles will automatically add them to the basket.

The third new feature in the Getir app is “Calorie Estimation.” Developed for GetirYemek, the “What Should I Eat?” tool offers personalized meal recommendations, displaying the most popular dishes from restaurants along with review summaries and performance insights to help users make more informed dining choices. As another first, Getir now includes calorie estimates based on food photos within the app — offering convenience to users who want to maintain their diet or fitness goals.

To date, Getir has delivered nearly 3 billion products across 1 billion orders, with its app downloaded 130 million times and averaging 1.2 million daily visits. The company currently employs around 13,000 people indirectly and 1,200 at its headquarters.
