Google has officially launched the Android and iOS versions of NotebookLM, its AI-powered note-taking and research assistant first introduced in 2023. With this update, users can now access the service not only on desktop but also on their mobile devices.
NotebookLM is equipped with features designed to help users understand complex information. It offers smart summaries, allows users to ask questions based on uploaded documents and other sources, and supports a personalized research process.
The mobile version introduces several new capabilities, including AI-generated Audio Overviews — podcast-style summaries created by NotebookLM. Users can listen to these overviews offline and with background playback enabled.
Within the app, users can create new notebooks, view existing ones, and add sources such as documents, websites, PDFs, or YouTube videos directly to NotebookLM using the share function. The app also supports automatic switching between light and dark modes based on the device’s system settings.
The release of the mobile version comes just one day ahead of Google’s annual I/O event, suggesting that more details about the app may be revealed during the conference. NotebookLM is now available for download on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
