According to Vinod Khosla, who invested $50 million in OpenAI, in 10 years humanity will have access to professional services and free medicine thanks to humanoid robots.
"I think that in 10 years we will have free doctors, tutors and lawyers. I predict that in 25 years we will have a billion bipedal robots. This will create a bigger industry than the current automobile industry," Khosla says.
Instead of thinking about how artificial intelligence can lead to the destruction of humanity, he believes that people should think about how artificial intelligence can positively affect the world.
The investor has long believed in the revolutionary potential of artificial intelligence. His venture capital firm Khosla Ventures invested in OpenAI in 2019, as well as other AI startups such as Replit. However, Khosla said in October that he doesn't want to bet too much on AI right now. Given the hype around the technology, Khosla believes AI startups are overrated and only a few will survive.
