On the first day of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, an event on "Using open data for a sustainable world" was organized by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IRIA).
Mikhail Parfentev, the project manager for the Open Data Portal of IRIA, made a presentation and emphasized the importance of holding the event in this regard within the framework of COP29. M. Parfentev brought to the attention of the event participants the contribution of open data to the promotion of the green agenda, the fight against climate change and a more sustainable world in general: "By using the open data portal, the activity of ecologically efficient and 'smart' cities can be optimized."
At the same time, he also drew attention to the potential of extensive use of the open information provided by the relevant government agencies about the environment in research, research, start-up and innovative ecological products.
In the question-and-answer part of the event, the questions of interest to the participants were answered, and opinions were exchanged on topics of special interest. It should be noted that IRIA also conducts a series of educational seminars on open data in several higher education institutions. Until now, the faculty and staff participated in the seminars held at UFAZ and ASOSU, and presentations were made on the topic.
