Mate, a new Israeli cybersecurity startup, has launched with a seed round of $15.5 million from Team8 and Insight Partners.
Founded in early 2025, Mate has developed a platform that uses AI models and autonomous agents to help Security Operations Centers (SOCs) manage their alert workload. The system integrates with existing security tools and uses agents powered by large language models to investigate alerts, correlate evidence, and automatically resolve simple incidents.
Incidents that require more serious attention are routed to human analysts with additional context.
Mate’s founding team includes veterans such as Asaf Viner (formerly a product lead at Wiz and Microsoft), Oren Saban (former product lead at Microsoft Defender XDR and Security Copilot), and Gayi Pergal (formerly at Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center and Axonius).
Mate's goal is to reduce the workload of SOC teams, accelerate incident investigation, and maximize the use of AI in security operations.
