Kazakhstan's well-known e-commerce and fintech company, Kaspi.kz, is preparing to acquire all shares of Rabobank A.Ş., which operates in Turkey. This acquisition requires approval from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), the Competition Authority, and other regulatory bodies.
Previously, in October 2024, Kaspi.kz had purchased 65.41% of Hepsiburada, one of Turkey's largest e-commerce platforms, for $1.127 billion. Now, by acquiring Rabobank A.Ş., the company aims to further expand its operations in Turkey.
Kaspi.kz is a company valued at $21 billion on Nasdaq. It operates not only in e-commerce but also in payment services and fintech. The company has a super app called Kaspi, which is used by 13 million people in Kazakhstan.
With this acquisition, Kaspi.kz will strengthen its position in the Turkish market and expand its presence in the financial sector.
