On September 9, Mingachevir State University (MDU) and “Kapital Bank,” one of the country’s leading financial institutions, inaugurated the “Birbank Fintech” laboratory within the framework of a cooperation memorandum. The project is regarded as a significant step towards strengthening the ties between higher education institutions and the labor market.
The opening ceremony was attended by MDU Rector Anar Eminov and the head of Kapital Bank’s Mingachevir branch, Sabuhi Mukhtarov. During the event, it was emphasized that the new laboratory will provide students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical skills in the field of financial technologies. As part of the cooperation, the bank also donated 20 modern laptops to the university.
In his remarks, Rector Anar Eminov stressed that one of the university’s main goals is to prepare students for their future careers. He noted that the partnership with Kapital Bank will help students become more competitive specialists in the labor market and expressed gratitude to the bank for its support.
Head of Kapital Bank’s Mingachevir branch, Sabuhi Mukhtarov, highlighted that fostering innovative skills among young people is one of the key directions of the bank’s corporate social responsibility policy. He underlined that the “Birbank Fintech” laboratory will enable students to apply their knowledge in digital banking and financial technologies in practice.
Within the memorandum, MDU students are also expected to complete internships at Kapital Bank. This initiative will allow them to apply their theoretical knowledge in a real working environment and gain firsthand experience of the processes in the banking sector.
The newly established laboratory is not just a classroom for MDU students but also a gateway to the world of modern financial technologies and a solid foundation for their future careers. This model of cooperation serves as a successful example of higher education and private sector partnership, which can also be replicated by other universities.
