Meta signs $10 billion cloud deal with Google

Meta has signed a $10 billion deal with Google Cloud. Under this agreement, Meta will use Google’s cloud services, including servers, data storage, networking, and other technological resources. The move is aimed at supporting the company’s future artificial intelligence projects.

In July, Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company plans to spend tens of billions of dollars in the coming years to build large AI data centers. These data centers will meet Meta’s AI computing needs and support the development of new technologies.

Earlier in July, Meta also increased its annual capital expenditure forecast by $2 billion, raising it to a range of $66–72 billion. The company revealed plans to sell $2 billion worth of existing data center assets to help finance its AI infrastructure.

Google’s initiative coincides with its collaboration with OpenAI. According to Reuters, OpenAI will start using Google Cloud services to meet its growing computing needs, highlighting the increasing cooperation between Google and Meta in the AI sector.

This deal will strengthen Meta’s AI infrastructure while also boosting revenue for Google’s cloud services.
