Currently, AzInTelecom LLC, in collaboration with Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) CJSC, is implementing the integration of a facial recognition-based payment system. This system will allow users to make payments automatically by recognizing their faces. Farrukh Ferecullayev, Director of the Commercial Department at AzInTelecom, provided key details about the project during a training session organized for media representatives.
In parallel, the possibilities of implementing a similar mechanism in the Baku Metro are being discussed. This is important for saving passengers’ time and speeding up the payment process.
However, the system’s deployment, particularly on buses, may face certain challenges. Weather conditions, lighting, and camera quality are among the technical factors that could affect the process. Before full-scale implementation, trial tests are planned. If these trials prove successful, a final decision will be made regarding the system’s broader deployment.
