OpenAI aims to reach a valuation of $13 billion to $1 trillion within five years

OpenAI is currently generating record revenue — the company’s annual revenue is about $13 billion, 70% of which comes from regular users paying $20 per month for ChatGPT Plus. According to the Financial Times, ChatGPT has 800 million active users, but only 5% of them are paid subscribers.

At the same time, the company plans to invest more than $1 trillion over the next decade. OpenAI has already signed contracts with giant technology companies such as Oracle, Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom for 26 gigawatts of computing power. The cost of this infrastructure is much higher than its current revenue.

To fill the financial gap, OpenAI is looking for new sources of revenue. The company’s five-year plan includes government contracts, online shopping tools, video services, consumer devices and the sale of computing power through its own data center project called Stargate.

Experts say that many large US companies have already become dependent on OpenAI technology for major contracts. For this reason, the success or failure of OpenAI could directly impact the American market.
