OpenAI Introduces ChatGPT Pulse

OpenAI’s latest step in personalization delivers morning briefings tailored to users’ daily routines and areas of interest. Currently, this feature is available exclusively to “Pro” subscribers, who pay $200 per month. However, the company plans to roll out ChatGPT Pulse to a broader audience in the future. With this move, OpenAI aims to transform ChatGPT from a simple chatbot into a full-fledged digital assistant.

ChatGPT Pulse generates personalized content by drawing from multiple sources, including:

  • Past conversations and activity within ChatGPT
  • Connected applications (such as calendars, email, and Google Contacts)

When users open the app in the morning, they are greeted with five to ten short summaries—or “briefs.” These may include:

  • The day’s agenda
  • News on topics of interest
  • Sports events, nutrition tips, or travel plans

Pulse presents this information in a card format, allowing users to click on each card for more detail. Feedback can be provided on the cards, helping the system refine future briefings.

CEO Fidji Simo emphasized the company’s vision: “We want to make personal assistant support accessible to everyone—not just something available to the wealthy.”

According to OpenAI, the goal is not to keep users glued to their screens but to deliver a limited amount of information that helps them focus on the day ahead.

In the future, Pulse is expected to evolve into an AI agent capable of performing actions such as booking restaurants or drafting emails.
