OpenAI has unveiled its new video generation model, Sora 2, along with the “Sora” iOS mobile app, which allows users to take advantage of this technology. Initially, the app will operate on an invitation-only basis for users in the U.S. and Canada.
The new Sora 2 model offers advanced capabilities compared to its predecessor. It generates more realistic object movements and visuals, significantly reducing the inconsistencies and “reality distortions” often observed in AI-generated videos.
The Sora app not only enables users to create videos but also offers several interactive features. Users can edit videos created by others, and the most notable feature, “Cameo,” allows users to verify their accounts and seamlessly insert their own likenesses into AI-generated scenes.
OpenAI places a strong emphasis on user safety. The app includes measures such as parental controls for children and daily content creation limits. The app will initially be free, but if demand is high, OpenAI may introduce paid packages for additional AI video production. ChatGPT Pro subscribers will also have access to exclusive Sora 2 Pro features.
