Optimus: Tesla’s new robot that can talk

Tesla’s next-generation robot, Optimus, is now equipped with a voice assistant and can engage in conversation. Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff shared a video of him interacting with the robot during a visit to Tesla’s office. The video demonstrates how the robot communicates with the Grok AI assistant.

As seen in the footage, Optimus still moves slowly and responds with delays. Benioff asks the robot where a box of soda is, but it cannot pinpoint the exact location and instead suggests going to the kitchen together. During the recording, Elon Musk advises giving the robot a little space to start moving.

Unlike previous models, the new Optimus features enclosed and more streamlined hands, with no visible external connections. Its new gold color is another noticeable upgrade.

Marc Benioff called the robot “the beginning of a revolution in physical robotics,” and thanked Elon Musk for enabling this. Musk replied briefly and succinctly.

This news marks a new milestone in the development of robotic technology. It is worth noting that Benioff has previously emphasized the importance of AI in business processes, stating that AI agents have helped the company solve customer issues from years ago.
