Sam Altman returns to OpenAI as CEO.
OpenAI, a valuable US startup, said it had reached an "agreement in principle" for Altman's return. Former Salesforce CEO Bret Taylor, former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers and Quora founder Adam D'Angelo will be part of the AI startup's new board. Taylor will serve as chairman of the board.
“I love OpenAI and everything I've done in the last few days has served to keep this team and its mission together. When I decided to join Microsoft on Sunday evening, it was clear that this was the best path for me and the team. With the support of the new board and Satya, I look forward to returning to OpenAI and building on our strong partnership with Microsoft,” Altman shared at X.
