On October 4, Samsung introduced the Galaxy SmartTag 2 with an updated design and features along with the Fan Edition series. The new design is more resistant to water and dust with its rectangular shape and metal ring. Distinctive new features include Lost Mode, Compass View and Pet Travel Mode. In addition, the battery life has been increased to 500 days in normal mode and 700 days in power saving mode.

The Galaxy SmartTag 2 will be available on October 11 for $30 and is available in black and white. Along with the new features, the SmartThings app has also been updated and support for augmented reality has been added.
