SCIS launches bug bounty program

The State Service for Special Communications and Information Security and the local cybersecurity company “Qarabug” LLC are launching a “bug bounty” reward program in order to ensure continuous security in the cyber environment and develop the national cybersecurity ecosystem.

The announcement of the “bug bounty” program for the information systems of state institutions for the first time in our country is not only an innovative step in general, but also aims to revitalize the field, increase reliability in private-public cooperation, and identify existing gaps in the GOV.AZ zone. The project will also be useful in terms of forming a bug bounty culture in our country.

The program will be implemented from April 15 to July 31, 2025. During this period, specialists, researchers, and ethical hackers working in the field of information security will have the opportunity to earn rewards by detecting technical vulnerabilities in information systems in the *.GOV.AZ zone and submitting reports.

The main objectives of the “Bug Bounty” program are:

  • Detecting technical vulnerabilities in information systems belonging to the public sector;
  • Stimulating local experts and researchers specializing in the field of cybersecurity;
  • Forming an open cooperation environment to strengthen cyber resilience;
  • Forming and stimulating a culture of ethical hacking.

The vulnerabilities submitted within the program will be evaluated according to the risk level and will be evaluated with appropriate points. At the end of the program, the participants who have collected the most points and occupy the first three places will be awarded a cash prize and a certificate.

Participants who wish to participate in the program must register on the website www.qarabug.az. Detailed information about the rules can also be obtained from this website.
