SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son plans to build a $1 trillion robot manufacturing industrial complex in Arizona, USA, called "Project Crystal Land."
The project aims to involve Taiwan’s semiconductor manufacturer TSMC, although it is unclear whether the company is interested in participating. Sources say Samsung’s leadership has also been involved in discussions, but details have not been disclosed.
The project's success depends on the support of former U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration and the state of Arizona. The final cost will be determined by the involvement of other technology companies.
SoftBank, TSMC, Samsung, and U.S. government representatives have declined to comment. Following the news, SoftBank’s shares rose by 2.7%, TSMC’s by 1.9%, and Samsung’s by 0.5%.
It is worth noting that in January 2025, SoftBank, OpenAI, and Oracle jointly established Stargate, a company to build data centers in the U.S., with an initial investment of $100 billion.
