The mobile gaming market in Russia has reached $247 million.

In 2024, subscriptions and in-app purchases in the Russian App Store and Google Play generated 12% more revenue than in 2023. Currently, Russia ranks 5th in downloads and 36th in purchases on these platforms. However, the situation with Google Play remains unclear, as Google has banned all transactions in the Russian store. As a result, it is uncertain how purchases are being accounted for. Russian users make purchases using foreign payment cards in other countries’ stores, meaning these transactions are recorded in those countries. Additionally, purchases made in local stores like RuStore are not included in the overall calculation.

A significant portion of gaming revenue in the Russian market comes from Chinese-developed games, but the exact figures remain unknown.

It is also important to determine how much Russians are actually spending. In 2021, the total volume of Russia’s mobile gaming market was $76 billion, but in 2022, this figure dropped by three times. The primary reasons for this decline were the reduced interest in mobile phones after the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions on payments in foreign stores.
