Anthropic introduces new “Learning” feature to Claude chatbot

AI company Anthropic has added a new “Learning” mode to its Claude chatbot that guides users step-by-step. In this mode, the bot doesn’t just provide direct answers — it explains the topic, asks questions, and encourages the user to reach conclusions on their own.

Previously available only in the Claude for Education web version, the feature is now free to use on iOS and Android apps as well.

The update is also designed for programmers. In the Claude Code editor, the “Learning” mode pauses before completing the code and prompts the user to finish the remaining part. In the “Explanatory” mode, it explains the generated code line-by-line. Anthropic describes it as “like pair-programming with an experienced mentor.”

Users can choose their preferred response style with the /output-style command, while the default “Default” mode remains available.

The Claude app is free to download and can be used for chatting, coding, and analyzing images and documents. Claude Code is available only in paid plans: Pro at $20 per month, and Max at $100 or $200 per month, depending on usage limits.

Anthropic says this new feature opens up more opportunities for those who want to learn interactively.
