Apple to Invest $500 Billion in the US

Apple has announced plans to invest more than $500 billion in the United States over the next four years. The investment includes plans to hire 20,000 people and build a new server factory in Texas.

The announcement comes just days after US President Donald Trump stated that Apple CEO Tim Cook had promised to shift the company’s manufacturing from Mexico to the US. Trump noted that the move was intended to avoid tariffs on products imported from overseas.

Apple CEO Tim Cook expressed confidence in the future of American innovation, saying, "We are bullish on the future of American innovation, and we’re proud to build on our long-standing US investments with this $500 billion commitment to our country’s future."

The $500 billion investment covers a wide range of activities, including purchases from US suppliers for products like glass for iPhones and filming of TV shows and movies for Apple TV+. Apple did not specify how much of this amount was already planned for its US supply base.

This pledge follows a similar commitment made by Apple in 2018, during the first Trump administration, when the company promised to invest $350 billion in the US and create 20,000 new jobs.

Apple also plans to build a new facility in Houston, Texas, expected to open in 2026. The new factory will produce servers for Apple Intelligence, the company's AI suite. The company claims that the new facility will create thousands of jobs and collaborate with Foxconn to assemble the servers.
