Applications Open for the “Parla” Scholarship and Development Program

Applications are now open for the “Parla” Scholarship and Development Program, implemented by the Education Development Fund and NEQSOL Holding to support the education and personal development of female university students.

As part of the program, 50 female students will be selected and provided with a monthly scholarship of AZN 200. In addition, participants will have access to various opportunities supporting their professional and personal development. These opportunities include internships, mentoring and training programs, as well as access to educational programs from leading universities worldwide through the NEQSOL Academy and LinkedIn Learning platforms.

To ensure the continuity of the program, strengthen professional connections among graduates, encourage knowledge and experience sharing, and support their personal and professional development, the “Parla” Alumni Community has been established. The community provides participants with continued opportunities for development, collaboration and networking after graduation. Various training sessions, mentoring meetings, professional development sessions and networking events are organized within the community.

Who can apply?

Female students who meet the following requirements can apply for the “Parla” Scholarship and Development Program:

Be a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan;

Be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at a higher education institution operating in Azerbaijan;

Be studying in one of the fields of study specified for the program;

Have scored at least 450 points in the university admission examination;

Have a cumulative academic performance above 80%;

Actively participate in extracurricular activities, including volunteering and social initiatives;

Meet at least one of the following social criteria:

Be a member of a family receiving targeted state social assistance;

Have lost both parents or have been raised in an orphanage;

Both parents (or the sole parent, in the case of a single-parent family) must fall into one of the following categories:

A person officially recognized as having a disability due to a functional impairment of the body at a rate of 31–60%, 61–80% or 81–100%;

A person registered as unemployed;

A person without employment who receives an old-age pension;

A person without employment who receives an old-age social benefit.

Note: For the selection of first-year students who meet the above social criteria, their university admission examination score will be taken into consideration.

How will the selection process work?

Admission to the program consists of three stages:

1. Online application
Candidates register by completing the electronic application form within the specified application period.

2. Evaluation
Candidates’ academic performance and the information they provide will be evaluated.

3. Interview
Candidates who advance to the next stage will be invited for an interview. During the interview, candidates’ goals, social circumstances, student activities and other relevant criteria will be taken into consideration.

The interview results will serve as the main basis for the final selection.

Note: Individuals who have previously benefited from other scholarship programs of the Education Development Fund are not eligible to apply for the “Parla” program.
