Another service of the Ministry of Justice is now provided in digital form.
Thus, with the joint initiative of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, and the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, the application for a birth certificate has been digitized. Parents can now obtain the birth certificate of their newborn child in a completely digital form through the “mygov” application without going to the registration authorities.
When a child is born, the Ministry of Justice has created a service for sending a notification to the parent about the registration of the birth through the “mygov” application. Parents enter the application, select “Becoming a parent” from the “Life events” section, and then go to the “Application for a birth certificate” section and enter the required information into the system. During the process:
Parents check the initial information and enter the child’s name and surname;
The registration authority where the birth certificate will be received is selected and the contact number is recorded;
If the system does not determine the nationality of the child, the nationality of both the mother and father is selected, scanned versions of the birth certificates are uploaded;
The information is reviewed for the last time and after approval, the application is completed.
After the application is completed, the birth is registered in the selected registration authority and the child's birth certificate is reflected in digital format in the "My Family Information" section on the "mygov" platform. Also, upon the citizen's application, a birth certificate can be provided to him in paper form by the registration authority of his choice.
Obtaining a lump-sum benefit:
Obtaining a lump-sum benefit for the birth of a child is part of this process. During the process, information on the registration of the birth is automatically forwarded to the State Social Protection Fund, and that institution proactively makes an appointment for the payment of a lump-sum benefit. Parents can obtain the benefit from the "Birbank" mobile application owned by "Kapital Bank".
It should be noted that, according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 16, 2024, the submission of birth certificate information through the "mygov" platform has the same legal force as the submission of a physical document.
