Arm, owned by SoftBank, will begin producing its own chip. This chip is expected to be a CPU for servers and used in large data centers. It will be customized for various customers, but production will be outsourced to other companies.
Arm's first self-produced chip could be unveiled as early as this summer. This marks a significant step for Arm, as the company usually licenses its chip designs to companies like Apple and Nvidia. Producing its own chip could turn some of its existing customers into competitors.
Both Meta and Arm were contacted for comments, but no official statement has been received yet.
