Netflix and NASA have announced a new partnership that will bring live space programming to the streaming platform starting in the summer of 2025. This collaboration will allow Netflix subscribers to watch live broadcasts of rocket launches, astronaut spacewalks, and real-time views of Earth from the International Space Station.
In addition, Netflix will feature selected content from NASA+, the agency’s ad-free streaming platform that launched in 2023. This marks a significant expansion of Netflix’s live content offerings, which until now have mainly included in-house productions such as stand-up comedy specials, award shows, and occasional sporting events.
Through this partnership, Netflix aims to diversify its live streaming catalog and attract viewers interested in science and space. In recent months, Netflix has also partnered with French broadcaster TF1 to stream live sports and entertainment content in France.
For NASA, this is another step in reaching broader audiences. Earlier in 2025, NASA launched a FAST (Free Ad-Supported TV) channel on Prime Video and continues to share content via YouTube and its official website. By joining forces with Netflix, the space agency hopes to engage more space enthusiasts through one of the world’s most popular platforms.
This partnership offers a win-win: Netflix strengthens its position in live broadcasting, while NASA gains more visibility for its missions and scientific endeavors.
