A new artificial intelligence-based system is being tested in Russia to detect graffiti and illegal advertising. The company that developed the technology, NtechLab, reported on this.
It was reported that the developed video analytics system analyzes images from city cameras and surveillance devices installed in public transport. The system identifies unapproved graffiti and illegal advertising and transmits information to the relevant authorities.
According to the company, the algorithms are adjusted so as not to react to legal examples of street art and murals. Currently, the technology is being tested in a pilot phase in several regions of Russia.
Experts believe that this solution will help prevent minor vandalism and more quickly eliminate violations in the urban environment. According to plans, the system is planned to be introduced in a number of cities within a year.
It should be noted that the technologies developed by NtechLab have previously been used in Russia to monitor waste sites and control the activities of public utilities.
