The Azerbaijan State Transport Agency (AYNA), under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, has introduced 1,921 digital tachograph cards this year to monitor working and rest hours in international freight transport. In total, over the past four years, 12,220 cards have been issued to operators and drivers.
To ensure system continuity, a contract for card production was signed on September 30 with Austriacard Holding, and the process of renewing the National Keys was completed. For this purpose, AYNA representatives attended a session at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission in Ispra, Italy.
During the session, Azerbaijan’s National Keys for the digital tachograph system were updated and certified in accordance with international procedures and handed over to the manufacturer. As a result of this successful technical procedure, the issuance of digital tachograph cards will continue without interruption for the next two years.
