The World Economic Forum (WEF) has published an article titled “How Azerbaijan is Leveraging Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Energy Transformation” on its official website.
The article highlights Azerbaijan's significant steps toward integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into the energy sector to enhance efficiency and sustainability. In line with discussions under COP29, the country is adopting AI-driven solutions to expand the use of renewable energy and achieve decarbonization goals.
As part of the "AI Solutions in Energy" initiative, conducted jointly by WEF's Centre for Energy and Materials and the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SIM), local partners are implementing advanced approaches, including energy consumption optimization, predictive maintenance for infrastructure, and AI-based demand forecasting.
To implement these concepts, pilot projects have been launched in Azerbaijan. These projects aim to reduce energy consumption by up to 30% and cut carbon emissions by 25-30% through the application of smart sensors and predictive AI algorithms. Additionally, the country is taking significant steps toward becoming a global green energy supplier by maximizing its renewable energy potential.
