A number of Chinese technology companies, including Huawei, JD.com and UBTech, are actively entering the rapidly growing market for artificial intelligence toys (AI toys). This market is experiencing rapid growth both in China and globally.
According to reports, China’s AI toy sector is estimated to be worth 24.6 billion yuan (about 3.5 billion US dollars) in 2025. According to AskCI Consulting, the market size will reach 85 billion yuan (about 12 billion US dollars) by 2030.
Shenzhen-based Huawei recently launched its artificial intelligence-powered soft toy called Smart Hanhan. More than 10,000 units were sold in the first week after the product was launched.
The Smart Hanhan toy has motion recognition, voice and touch functions. The toy integrates with Huawei devices running HarmonyOS 5.0 and later.
JD.com, one of China's leading e-commerce companies, also introduced a series of artificial intelligence soft toys called JoyInside shortly before Huawei.
